Rivers had a decisive role for our civilization. This is true both for great rivers, like the Nile which allowed the ancient Egypt to prosper, and the smaller ones, like Sovara and Cerfone which cross the park of Monti Rognosi. Two small rivers, but so important that they are named after deities. The river is a peculiar ecosystem to discover, it greatly modify the areas it flows through, and is a refuge for many and curious animals. A hike along the Tiber will allow you to discover how a river is born and how it flows towards the sea, and what kind of plants and animals live in there. These rivers are also a great source of knowledge about old worships and jobs... How it is done: hike with opportunity of varying the difficulty level. What do you need: sport equipment suitable for the season. Aim: knowledge of the territory, in-depth comprehension of fluvial ecosystem (with particular attention to Sovara), observation of animal and vegetal species living in the area, knowledge of the importance the river had in human activities in the past and analysis of old jobs linked to the presence of water.
